Otters have had a busy day today. In maths we have been finding 1 less than and 1 more than an amount. We used the 5 currant buns song to help us with this which everyone enjoyed being a currant bun. This afternoon we have been creating our beautiful autumnal artwork using cotton buds to stipple paint for leaves and paper pressers to press different shapes in leaves.

Today Otters‘ have been thankful to God for the different foods that can be harvested at this time of year. They have strengthened their fine motor muscles by hamming nails into pumpkins. As mathematicians, they have been ordering them by size and as artists, they have sketched and then painted with watercolours to create their own pumpkin pictures.

We have been so busy this week. We have been learning our doh disco song to strengthen our fingers ready for writing. We have been practicing drawing different lines ready to start learning our letters. In our maths session we have been counting different actions in our number song and sorting different coloured bears into colour groups and repeating patterns. In our science lesson, we wandered through the woodland noticing the different signs of Autumn and collect leaves to make our own leaf hedgehogs. Today we had our first PE lesson which was a huge sucess too.

Forest Church with Reverend Paul and Mrs Archer
You Can Find Me!
“When I consider your heavens, the work for your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you can care for him?’
Proverbs 8:3-4
It’s important that we all take time to stop and rest. The perfect place to do this is outside where we can sit and reflect. We spent some time in our woodland area with Reverend Paul and Mrs Archer just listening and appreciating the amazing world God created for us, before creating some master pieces from things we found in the woodland.
God is constantly speaking to us. He doesn’t always use words. Day after day, he paints amazing sunsets across the sky to show us His power and glory. He strokes our cheeks with a gentle breeze to remind us that He is right beside us. He speaks in the faces and voices of our loved ones.
We can find God in every minute of the day – if you have eyes that are looking and ears that are listening. To develop our spirituality, we all have to learn to take time to stop, and ask God’s Spirit to help us see and hear Him better.
Our forest church session helped the children and adults to practice looking and listening for God in the world around us, so that we will all be able to see and hear Him more, especially in times of need. We were reminded that we need to search for God with all our hearts – and we will find Him.

Coronation of King Charles III
Date: 8th May 2023 @ 3:08pm
King Charles III is passionate about our environment and conservation. At Warmingham CE Primary, we share his passion and to commemorate his Coronation we have been working on some special projects which will encourage more wildlife into our grounds.
Otters planted some flowers in old wellies.
Hedgehogs made wildflower seed bombs which they later used to create a wildflower area by the school’s front gate.
Squirrels planted some shrubs and bedding plants in the planters which we moved from the front of the school to the edge of the playground so the children can maintain them.
Badgers made some bird boxes for the woodland area. They then decorated them with paintings of wildflowers, bees, butterflies and ladybirds inspired by the invitation for the coronation which was created by Andrew Jamieson.
Date: 24th Mar 2023 @ 4:31pm
Inspired by the artist Louise Bourgeois and her giant spider artwork, we have created our own sculpture in the style of ‘Maman’.
