Our Head Pupils and Ethos Leads - Eliza, Alexander and Oliver P
Every September the children in Year 6 are invited to apply for the role of one of our Head Pupils. Every applicant is asked to complete an application form explaining what they would like to achieve as one of our Head Pupils. Mrs Appleby, Mrs Allen and the Ethos Council then interview the candidates and choose the two they feel will have the most impact. Once elected the Head Pupils work closely with Mrs Appleby and Mrs Allen to lead the Ethos Council.
Our Ethos Council - Eliza, Alexander, Oliver P, Molly, Seb, Isla, Jacob and Ted
As a team, we help share our school vision, ethos and Christian distinctiveness through a variety of exciting opportunities, such as leading Collective Worship, leading learning walks, organising school displays and meeting with other Ethos Teams within our trust.
A couple of years ago, our ex-head pupils, Anna and Amelie were lucky enough to be selected to take part in the Young Leaders Programme for the Church of England – one of only four schools from the Chester Diocese. Anna and Amelie worked on tasks, which helped them to transform our society and inspire others to do the same – in school and in our local community. We have applied for Sophie and illie to take part in this amazing programme,
Our Eco Warriors lead by Amelia, our Chief Eco Warrior and her deputy Bradley.
Our Eco Warriors help to care for our school environment. They meet on a regular basis and they feed back to their classes on action points and represent their class’ concerns and ideas at meetings, helping all of us to have a better understanding of what we need to do to look after our wonderful planet.
Being an Eco Warrior is an ideal opportunity for our pupils to get more involved in the way our school is run and help us to be more environmentally friendly. It provides opportunities for pupils to communicate their feelings as well as influence decisions that are made. Eco Warriors take on the responsibility of expressing their own views, but also the views of their peers as well as passing on information from eco meetings. As an Eco Warrior pupils have the opportunity to develop skills such as confidence, communication and negotiation. The team have been working hard with everyone in school to improve our enviroment. We recently received the 'Green Tree Award' Gold.
Our Head Librarian - Simon and Alcie
Our librarians are responsible for looking after our school library, reading shed and organising activities and events with Mrs Wright to develop a love for reading in school.
Our House Captains - Jack, Morrison, Oliver S and Thomas
Our House Captains are responsible for leading their Houses - Beech, Oak, Sycamore and Willow - in competitions such as Sports Day. They also work with Miss Turrell to plan an inter-house competition each half term. Each Thursday they collate the house points for their house. These are then presented in our weekly Celebrations Worship on a Friday morning.
